Since everything was sort of resolved with Andie and the venue, I had to try and straighten up the best man situation between my boys. Ever since I’d announced that Pedro would be one of my groomsmen, Andrew and Damien been kind of salty towards me. I needed to get to the bottom of things before the situation escalated into something more.

While Andie was out with the girls, I decided to invite everyone over to play PlayStation. I figure that would break the ice with everyone, instead of going out to a crowded bar.

I grabbed a beer from the fridge when there was a knock on the door. I went to it and seen it was Andrew and Damien through the peephole. I opened it, giving them both the brotherly hug before they stepped inside.

“Come on in and feel at home,” I said and went to the couch.

“Don’t we always?” Andrew asked while going into the kitchen.

“That’s why I said it.”

“I heard Andie picked her maid of honor,” Damien said and sat down on the couch.

“Yep; she decided to have both Regina and Mashawn as joint mohs.”

“Since we’re on the subject of the wedding party, I need to address yours before the elephant in the room arrives,” Andrew said.

“That’s why I invited you all over, so you can get to know Pedro.”

“Personally, I don’t mind Pedro being a part of your party. You seem like you two are close since he started working with you,” Damien said.

“That’s only because Pedro gave him a space to have his bachelor party,” Andrew said.

“That’s not true, Andrew.”

“I have a problem with that. Damien and I were suppose to plan your party but, when Pedro announced he’d give you his cousin’s club, you completely threw us to the side.”

“I didn’t push y’all to the side. I thought this would be a way for everyone to get to know each other while planning the party. I didn’t see it as a big deal.”

“Bro, we’ve been friends for years; you should had seen it as a problem,” Andrew said.

I was about to speak when someone started knocking on the door. I already knew it was Pedro, so I got up and answered it.

“Hey, come on in.”

Pedro walked in and nodded to Damien and Andrew before sitting down.

“Okay, I ordered pizza and wings if y’all want any. It should be coming soon.”

The guys nodded and I sighed. This was going to be awkward as hell.

“Listen, before we start this night off, we need to clear the air with everyone.”

Andrew leaned back on the couch while Pedro glanced at him, wondering if he was the issue.

“When I chose you three to be my best men, I didn’t think it was going to be an issue. I was just choosing the three people that I thought would stand up for me at my wedding. Each of you have played a significant part in my life, and I wanted to express that.

“Damien and Andrew, we have known each other since we were kids.
